Linsey chose to embark in a career in osteopathy from a young age after accompanying her mother on a visit to their family osteopath. “In our family osteopathic treatment was as commonplace as consulting our G.P. I grew up believing that a holistic approach to health was vital as I soon recognised that dysfunction in one area of the body invariably leads to disruption elsewhere.” Linsey graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine after studying both osteopathy and naturopathy. Her clinical experience has taught her that the body will always strive to heal itself and that osteopathic treatment must assist this inherent healing process by encouraging the optimum conditions for health. |
Osteopaths tailor their treatment to best fit each individual patient. They take into account an individual’s past history and examination findings, in order to determine a treatment plan for the patient. The osteopath then suggests the use of appropriate treatment modalities for the individual. These include stretching, mobilisation, manipulation and soft tissue techniques, as well as postural advice and exercises. |

Naturopaths work together with their patients to promote and maintain a lifestyle more conducive to health on both a general and cellular level. Treatment modalities are chosen whilst bearing in mind the naturopath’s belief in the connection and interaction between the structural, biochemical and emotional components of an individual. These modalities include hydrotherapy, detoxification, relaxation techniques and nutritional advice. |
